Covid 19 Return to Play Guidelines

The health and safety of the Pop Warner community is always at the forefront of our decision-making and never more so than during this global pandemic. We are following the guidance of the CDC and public health officials to help reduce the exposure and transmission of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
We have received our “Return to Play” guidelines and will be following them as best as possible. Arizona Pop Warner has been working hard to ensure safety precautions are in place. We have received many questions and here are a few answers.
What precautions is AZPW taking time ensure my child is safe? We are pushing our start date back a few weeks to September 1, 2020. Arizona Pop Warner is fully committed to having a season. Our first game will be September 19,2020 Sanitizing stations will be at every practice and game location. Players will have all equipment from the waist up sanitized at the conclusion of activities. Parents will stay social distances and we are asking one family member in the facility at a time. Every child will have his/her own water bottle. All footballs will be sanitized between plays.  Coaches will have minimal physical contact with the players.
What if my child is exposed? If your child has been exposed, he/she will need to quarantine for 14 days. We are working extremally to keep participants on the field to have as normal season as possible however, safety comes first. If Arizona has another shutdown, we will push the season out as far as we can before canceling the 2020 season. We encourage you to go to the CDC website for the latest guidance, and hope you, your family and your community take the appropriate steps to remain healthy.
